POSITION OVERVIEW
The Case Manager is responsible for providing direct services to an adult-aged client base, maintaining and managing community provider relationships and ensuring a people-centered approach to service delivery.
Grant-Based: 2 year Full Time Position Grant Funded with a possible extension
This position is Union eligible. This position is grant-funded. If there is a substantial reduction in funding or funding ceases, the position may be terminated and/or subject to applicable CBA requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages a caseload consisting of detained and released adult-aged clients,
- Travels to and serves clients in the local RAICES office(s) and accompanies clients to local community resources,
- Conducts social services intakes and needs assessments to develop individual service plans and monitor client progress with particular attention to culture, language, and special circumstances,
- Works with translators when necessary,
- Provides quality assurance and monthly case file review to ensure client and program goals are met and exceeded,
- Serves as a liaison to community service providers and RAICES legal and advocacy department,
- Services provision that removes barriers to basic needs; refers clients to community partner agencies, as needed,
- Assesses clients’ immediate needs and determines the best course of action to accessing services, including but not limited to, education, housing, cash assistance, food assistance,
- Provides information, education, referrals, outreach, advocacy and support to ensure that our clients receive the services they require (ie. appropriate medical, mental health, education services, etc) and provide services related to clients’ legal cases, such as preparation of supporting documentation, assistance contacting consulate, accompaniment to ICE check-ins, court, biometrics appointments, etc),
- Assumes general administrative responsibilities, including detailed case management, timekeeping, data entry, grant compliance, and other tasks related to project compliance,land,
- Exhibits strong client boundaries and client confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science - Social Work;
- 2 years of case management experience or direct social services experience with immigrant adults;
- Bilingual with full fluency in English and Spanish;
- Able to pass any & all required background checks necessary to perform functions; and, possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
- MSW or Masters’ degree in related field, preferred;
- Experience working with adult immigrants and refugees is a plus

- Comfortable speaking to immigration officers, if needed;
- Able to conduct home visits, if needed;
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and public speaking skills; and,
- Able to work productively and independently in a fast-paced environment and to problem solve and think and act nimbly
