Billing Manager

Location: Hybrid (Ohio-based)
Schedule: Flexible hybrid work environment

The Opportunity

We’re partnering with a respected, multi-office professional services organization seeking a Billing Manager to lead their billing operations team. This person will oversee all aspects of the firm’s billing function—ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong collaboration between the billing department, leadership, and client-facing professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of billing specialists across multiple locations.

  • Manage and refine billing workflows to ensure timely, accurate invoicing and compliance with client guidelines.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency.

  • Collaborate with finance and operations leadership to align billing procedures with firm-wide initiatives.

  • Serve as a trusted resource to internal teams and clients, ensuring transparency and consistency in billing practices.

  • Foster a positive, respectful team culture rooted in accountability, communication, and professional growth.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Prior experience managing billing in a law firm or professional services environment.

  • Proficiency in Aderant and/or Elite Enterprise billing systems (minimum of 2 years).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to effectively interact with professionals at all levels.

  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
