CONNECTICUT GREEN BANK

CORPORATE AND REAL ESTATE PARALEGAL

SUMMARY:

The Connecticut Green Bank ("Green Bank") is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Corporate Paralegal with additional Real Estate support responsibilities to join its Legal team.

Working collaboratively across the organization, the Green Bank's Corporate Paralegals are responsible for day-to-day support of the agency's contract activities and deliver high quality service for our projects and programs for clean energy and environmental infrastructure. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, experience managing corporate compliance, and familiarity with real estate documentation and closings. This position will have exposure to the Green Bank's entire leadership team, including the Board of Directors.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

Individual responsibilities may include:

  • Overseeing and coordinating contract negotiation and execution workflows;
  • Providing transactional support by managing timelines, tracking deliverables, and coordinating across internal and external teams;
  • Supporting real-estate related closings, including reviewing title, drafting financing agreements from templates, and preparation of closing binders;
  • Coordinating with title companies and other third-party vendors;
  • Managing production and organization of legal records and exhibits;
  • Coordinating and scheduling appointments, conference calls, governance meetings, and other meetings which may include assembly and distribution of materials;
  • Preparing legal and administrative reports as needed;
  • Developing and maintaining tools to streamline contract processes, ensure consistency, and improve efficiency;
  • Serving as the organization's Freedom of Information Officer, coordinating responses to FOI requests;
  • Acting as Assistant Records Management Liaison Officer (RMLO), overseeing document retention and disposal; and
  • Other duties as required.

The overall duties of this position will be refined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the individual hired and the ongoing needs of the team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

The following minimum qualifications in knowledge, skill, and ability are required:

  • Direct experience with contract administration, with particular emphasis on interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills;
  • Problem resolution and negotiation skills;
  • High level proficiency with Microsoft Office;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively;
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills; and
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive situations with measured calmness and decisiveness.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

Education: Candidates must have a Paralegal Certificate or an Associate or Bachelor's Degree.

Experience: In addition, qualified candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in contracts administration and/or paralegal services.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:

  • This position reports jointly to the General Counsel & Chief Legal Officer and Deputy General Counsel.
  • This is a hybrid role split between a minimum of three (3) days per workweek in the Green Bank's Hartford, CT office and remote work.
  • State of CT benefits package, including generous time-off, health insurance covering medical, dental and vision, retirement, tuition reimbursement for continuing education, and paid leave.
  • Expected salary ranges from $85,000 - $115,000, but the final salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read printed materials and computer screens.
  • Repetitive use of hands and fingers typing and/or writing.
