We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant - Commercial Real Estate & Business& Financing Transactions for our Columbia, SC office.
Responsibilities include:
- Keen attention to detail and organization required
- Maintain document management, filing and analysis for large real estate transaction cases
- Create and manage commercial real estate letters and documents
- Preparation of closing documents, assist with closing and post-closing coordination
- Scheduling, to include maintaining calendars, closings and contract deadlines
- Work with accounting to get monthly bills out to clients per attorney instruction
- Complete entire file opening process including engagement letters, conflicts checks, Aderant Entry, follow up with file opening requests, set up physical files
- Close files and pull old files from the file room
- Analyze the documents to cull down the file to only the pertinent items to be stored
- Provide support to Attorneys as requested
- Other duties as assigned
Candidates should have the following skills and/or attributes:
- Experience working in a law firm, preferred
- Ability to prioritize
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc...) and other legal software applications
- Professional demeanor, excellent communication and computer skills
- Must be flexible with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with exceptional analytical skills and strong attention to detail
