Who you are:
TKD is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Secretary to provide high-level administrative and clerical support to attorneys in our Real Estate Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of real estate transactions, documentation, and legal terminology.
Essential responsibilities include:
- Serve as a liaison between attorneys and internal administrative departments to ensure efficient communication and workflow.
- Draft, revise, compare, and finalize legal documents related to real estate transactions, including contracts, leases, closing statements, and title documents.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of closing binders and post-closing documentation.
- Utilize document management software to draft, transcribe, proofread, revise, format, compare, and finalize legal materials with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Prepare agendas, presentations, and meeting notes for transactional matters.
- Manage billing processes, including time entry, expense reporting, and coordination with Accounting to ensure accurate client invoicing and resolution of billing issues.
- Maintain accurate timekeeping and update systems such as Rippe for expense and billing tracking.
- Organize and maintain client files, correspondence, and records in accordance with firm policies and document retention protocols.
- Manage attorneys’ calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments.
- Conduct conflict checks and prepare engagement and retainer letters.
- Schedule and manage the Real Estate Department’s monthly lunch meetings and social events.
- Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in all client and internal interactions.
- Foster collaborative relationships with attorneys, staff, and clients, providing exceptional service and support.
- Greet clients and visitors with warmth and professionalism.
- Provide backup support to other legal assistants and contribute to team success.
- Support business development initiatives and participate in committee projects as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all firm policies and procedures.
Qualifications and skills:
- A minimum of three (3) years of recent experience as a legal secretary, executive assistant, or administrative professional in a legal setting.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and legal document management systems.
- Advanced Word processing and PDF skills and a typing speed of 60–65 wpm with high accuracy.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology and real estate documentation.
- Ability to maintain a professional, courteous, and flexible demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated discretion and diplomacy in handling confidential and sensitive matters.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work overtime.

TKD is currently maintaining a hybrid schedule structured as Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in-office with alternating Mondays and the option to be remote Fridays.

Compensation & benefits:
The good faith base annual salary range for this position is a minimum $55,000 to a maximum of $110,000. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, years of relevant experience, applicable education/certification(s), office location, and the candidate's overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm. Market and Firm factors are also considered.
