The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Loss Mitigation team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with payoff and reinstatement requests and be adept at managing communications with clients and third parties in a fast-paced legal environment. This position plays a critical role in helping homeowners, lenders, and servicers navigate the reinstatement and payoff processes during foreclosure or loss mitigation proceedings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Request and obtain payoff and reinstatement figures from clients and loan servicers.
  • Draft accurate payoff and reinstatement letters in accordance with legal and client requirements.
  • Communicate with borrowers, attorneys, title companies, and other requesting parties to provide payoff/reinstatement figures and respond to inquiries.
  • Handle follow-up requests, address complaints, and resolve ancillary issues related to payoff or reinstatement.
  • Utilize client communication platforms such as LPS and Tempo for file management and updates.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines, as well as client protocols.
  • Work closely with attorneys, other paralegals, and administrative staff to ensure timely and efficient processing of requests.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 2+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience in foreclosure, real estate, or loss mitigation.
  • Familiarity with mortgage servicing platforms such as LPS (Black Knight) and Tempo.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
