
Telework is available for this position; however, changes to the telework program are at the Agency’s discretion. Remote-centered employees may be required to report in person to one of the agency's multiple reporting locations, as determined by management, and may be required to utilize a shared workspace or “hotel” when working in the office.
Under the direct supervision of the Legal Division Assistant Chief Counsel, the Attorney provides the full complement of legal services to the Agency and the California Privacy Protection Agency Board. This includes advising the Agency on substantive privacy legal matters and on legal issues impacting the Agency.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- A working knowledge of the California Consumer Privacy Act, the Delete Act, or other privacy laws applicable to California businesses.
- Experience providing legal services to a public agency related to operational issues.
- Understanding of the state rulemaking process pursuant to the Administrative Procedures Act.
- Experience with the California Public Records Act, Information Practices Act, or other laws related to access to public records.
- Ability to conduct extensive research in an emerging or complex area of law.
- Ability to conduct research and analyze the interplay between state and federal laws.
- Ability to work both cooperatively with a team and independently in a virtual setting.
