Job Description
The primary purpose of this position is to provide subject-matter expert legal counsel and services to the United States Air Force Civil Law and Litigation Directorate (AF/JAC), The Judge Advocate General (TJAG), and Air Force legal offices worldwide, as well as to clients at Headquarters Air and Space Forces and the Secretariat.
Duties Serves as the Subject Matter Expert and principal advisor to Air Force and Space Force personnel, to include TJAG, Air and Space Chiefs of Staff and Secretariat in the areas of law, including, but not limited to Civilian and Military Personnel Law, Government Ethics, Constitutional Law and Administrative Law, to include, but not limited to, Information Law (e.g., FOIA, Privacy Act). Represents the Civil Law and Litigation Directorate before a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with Secretary of the Air Force-level, Chief of Staff-level, Air Staff-level, Space Staff-level, senior program manager-level, Field-Operating-Agency-level, MAJCOM-level, and installation-level personnel. Develops, or oversees development, of legal training for the Air Force in the areas of Civilian and Military Personnel Law, Government Ethics, Constitutional Law topics and Administrative Law, to include but not limited to, Information Law (FOIA, Privacy Act). Provides leadership and assists in the direction of the daily planning, managing, and execution of diverse functions within the Civil Law and Litigation Directorate and Civil Law and Policy Division where decisions have an Air Force-wide impact and application. Salary- $169,279 - $197,200/year
