Job Description
Real Estate Law Firm is seeking a Closing Paralegal for real-estate transactions in our corporate office in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate would have at least 2 years of experience as a closing paralegal and be energetic, friendly, self-motivated, resourceful, and highly organized. This a full-time position offering health insurance, dental insurance, paid time off, and access to 401K. NC Notary preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to perform basic duties to close a real estate transaction.
- Work closely with clients to accomplish a closed transaction in a timely, efficient, and error-free manner. Coordinate closings and communicate file status/needs with buyers, sellers, lenders, real estate agents, and builder closing teams.
- Order/Distribute title commitments to required parties.
- Prepare Closing Disclosure, ALTA Settlement Statement and all other closing documents necessary for the transaction.
- Receive and follow closing instructions from lenders to prepare necessary documents for closing.
- Collect all real estate taxes due, Homeowner’s Association (HOA) dues, and any delinquencies.
- Ensure all requirements on the title binder are met prior to closing.
- Secure all documents (corrective and others) that may be required for the successful close of escrow/closing and the issuance of title insurance.
- Oversee the issuance of checks, invoices, receipts, and any other documents needed to ensure a thorough closing.
- Prior to disbursement: balance file, confirm good funds are received from appropriate parties, all documents are checked for accuracy, signatures are collected, notary acknowledgements are complete and legal descriptions are correct.
- Manage the entire real estate closing/escrow process, including compliance with real estate contracts, lender instructions, title requirements, closing/escrow requirements, company requirements and other written instructions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by manager.
- Adhere to State and Federal regulatory requirements.
