Job Description

Seeking Senior Business Immigration Attorney/TrascendEntry Manager

Responsibilities include

TranscendEntry Program Management

  • Initial set-up and ongoing project management of TranscendEntry Program
  • Create call scripts and serve as legal liaison on account issues
  • Liaise as needed with on-call lawyers and traveling clients 
  • Work with Operations to track profitability and recommend adjustments as needed, with goal of achieving profitability of at least 20%
  • Utilize understanding of the legal process surrounding U.S. entry to consult with clients, explain how the service works, answer legal and process questions, explain what is legally possible in terms of representation at a port of entry
  • Utilize knowledge of the rules of professional conduct and consult with ethics mentors as needed to:
    • ensure compliance with rules of legal ethics
    • draft special provisions for representation agreements that address any ethical issues / and ensure that the scope of representation is clear (i.e. no guarantee we can help in secondary, lawyer provided will be trained immigration lawyer but may not be entry expert)
  • Utilize network of professional contacts within community of immigration lawyers and (current and former) government employees to identify new providers for the service (outside attorneys and consultants) and maintain a robust database of contractors
  • Serve as legal liaison regarding contractor agreements with outside attorneys and consultants
  • Liaise with clients when their employees are traveling to answer legal questions, disseminate G28s and collect travel details (and coordinate with Operations to automate these functions)

Immigration Case Management

  • Researching and analyzing the law on immigration issues;
  • Synthesizing legal research and analysis into written memoranda or briefs, and performing case work as assigned;
  • Analyzing and summarizing legal documents;
  • Identifying potential immigration issues and developing strategies to address them;
  • Conducting/ participating in client meetings and calls;
  • Serving as account manager for client accounts as assigned;
  • Responding to client inquiries;
  • Informing senior associates and clients of important matters, e.g., case status, filing deadlines, I-94 issues, travel considerations;
  • Responsible for “touching” each case on docket every week and following up with each client weekly as appropriate. 

Paralegal Supervision

  • Delegating work as appropriate to paralegals;
  • Providing ongoing feedback and instruction to paralegals;
  • Training paralegals in organizing material for attorney/client meetings;       
  • Ensuring that paralegals draft, organize, and file immigration documentation in a thorough and timely manner;
  • Conduct regular meetings with direct reports and provide regular feedback.

 Marketing

  • Making personal and firm-wide marketing efforts a priority.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making. 
  • Ability to delegate to and oversee paralegals.
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and other communication skills.
  • Precise attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well with clients and others.
  • Ability to use forms databases and other computer programs.
  • Flexibility.

Required Education/Experience:

J.D. and 5+ years' business immigration law experience 

Expected Hours:

  • 40+ hours per week (Exempt from overtime)
  • If located within a fifty-mile radius of the office, work is completed in the office one day per week.
