We are seeking a detail oriented and dependable Legal Assistant to support our attorneys and litigation paralegal team. This role is essential to keeping cases moving forward smoothly and ensuring the legal team has the information, documentation, and coordination needed to deliver excellent results for our clients. Position Summary
The Legal Assistant provides critical legal and administrative support by preparing legal documents, managing case materials, coordinating communications, and assisting with litigation and transactional matters. This role blends substantive legal support with strong organizational and clerical execution.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, including notices, pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, and other legal correspondence.
  • Organize and maintain legal files, case documents, and databases.
  • Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, trials, and meetings.
  • File legal documents with courts and government agencies, ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedures.
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and other stakeholders.
  • Obtain signatures for HIPAA, medical authorizations, attestations, and affidavits
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Assist in preparing trial binders and exhibits
  • Support attorneys with case preparation and administrative tasks as needed
  • Familiar with case management software such as SmartAdvocate
  • Basic working knowledge of AI tools, including major large language models, with the ability to use them safely and responsibly to support legal drafting, research support, document review, and administrative efficiency. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or certificate in Paralegal Studies or a related field  preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal support role, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of court filing systems and e-filing procedures.

Salary
