About the Role

MIRACORP, Inc. is seeking a Legal Support Specialist to serve as a paralegal level professional supporting U.S. Department of Energy attorneys with advanced legal research, complex document drafting, litigation preparation, and regulatory program support. This role requires deep knowledge of federal legal processes, exceptional writing skills, and the ability to manage sensitive, high-impact legal matters with minimal supervision.

Location: U.S. Department of Energy, Idaho Falls, ID 

Essential Functions

Advanced Legal Support

  • Maintain legal files, records, and case documentation
  • Prepare advanced legal correspondence, reports, and presentations
  • Draft, review, and edit complex legal documents

 

Legal Research & Case Analysis

  • Conduct advanced legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and federal regulatory sources
  • Compile research findings, case data, and supporting materials
  • Support litigation preparation, including data analysis and exhibit management

 

Regulatory & Program Support

  • Manage ethics filings, FOIA/PA requests, and financial disclosure reporting
  • Assist with intern program coordination
  • Provide backup support for administrative review hearings
  • Prepare briefings and presentations for Office of Chief Counsel leadership


Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree + 5 years of experience OR Associate’s degree + 7 years OR 9 years of direct legal experience
  • Strong knowledge of federal legal processes and administrative law
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Westlaw, LexisNexis, and federal research tools
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Ability to obtain or maintain a federal security clearance

 

Preferred

  • ABA approved Paralegal Certificate
  • DOE or federal agency legal experience
