Position Overview: This is a dynamic opportunity for a mid-level attorney looking to grow within a collaborative, fast-paced, and high-profile entertainment law practice. The associate will work on a variety of corporate and IP transactions, with a focus on entertainment financing, catalog sales, content distribution, and talent/production agreements. Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate, and manage entertainment-related agreements, including catalog sales, music rights, talent contracts, and production/distribution deals
- Advise clients across film, television, music, digital media, and emerging content platforms
- Support complex transactions such as M&A, IP licensing, and entertainment financing
- Partner with legal teams, consultants, and business stakeholders on deal strategy and execution
- Deliver insightful, business-oriented guidance on IP and media law matters
- Contribute to firm-wide initiatives aimed at strengthening entertainment and media capabilities
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school
- 3 - 6 years of experience in corporate transactions, with exposure to entertainment, M&A, or IP law
- Prior experience with catalog sales or music rights acquisitions is highly preferred
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple matters and deadlines with precision
- Licensed and in good standing in New York or California
- Strong academic background and stable work history required (no frequent job changes or contract/temp roles)
- Strategic thinker with sharp attention to detail
- Team-oriented, with a proactive, growth-focused mindset
- Passionate about the evolving landscape of entertainment, media, and intellectual property
- Comfortable working on high-stakes deals involving leading entertainment companies and talent
