What You Will Do
As a Litigation Paralegal, you will work closely with our in-house legal team and attorneys as we grow our Ligation department, located in Plantation, Florida. We are offering a very competitive salary and benefits package. If you are interested in new opportunities, please apply today!

Position Details

• This job is located onsite in Plantation, Florida
• Applicants must be willing to complete tasks outside of formal job requirements
• Pay: competitive pay and benefits offered 

• Knowledge of State Court Filing systems including E-Portal, Court Maps, etc.
• Experience in legal research, document preparation, and case management is highly preferred, including motion and discovery practice.
• Draft correspondence, memoranda, and basic documents related to the substance of a case or transaction for internal and external use.
• Coordinate and conduct routine document reviews, including document organization, and assist the attorney in preparation of discovery and for trial.
• Independently complete a variety of assignments, based on cases or transactions; track and ensure deadlines are met in a timely fashion; submit and follow up on docket items.
• Assist with securing expert witness services and coordination of related information.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
• This is NOT a remote position, must be willing to work on site in Plantation, FL.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience, insurance defense preferred
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills 
• Experience with drafting and proofreading legal documents
• Knowledge of court rules and filing procedures (both electronic and manual).  
•  Knowledge of electronic discovery and e-filing procedures may be an advantage 
• A positive attitude, professional demeanor, and ability to maintain a calm and focused work environment under pressure.

 Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field. (Preferred)
• Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or equivalent certification may also be considered.
• Certification from a recognized legal assistant or paralegal association (e.g., NALA, NFPA, or NALS) is a plus.
