Northrop Grumman is seeking an in-house lawyer(s) to act as a Corporate Counsel(s) supporting various businesses, operations, programs, litigation, and other matters managed out of various offices in the United States.
Specific responsibilities may include counseling on matters associated with the pursuit, capture, and execution of U.S. Government and commercial contracts, as well as coordinating with various legal specialists inside the company to support litigation, internal investigations, and other matters (e.g., intellectual property, export, employment) impacting the business. Succeeding in this position requires excellent problem-solving skills, sound judgement, discretion, the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, and the highest standards of integrity and ethics. This position may be located in one of the following locations: Falls Church, VA, Dulles, VA, Mclean, VA, Linthicum, MD, Melbourne FL, Redondo Beach, CA, or Roy, UT. This is an on-site role that does allow for teleworking/remote arrangements.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Juris Doctor degree with a minimum of 5 years experience
- Member of an appropriate state bar and/or ability maintain in-house licensure status in the work location
- Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, a DOD Secret level security clearance as a condition of continued employment
- Government contracts experience at a law firm, U.S. Government agency and/or in-house legal department.
- Ability to analyze complex legal concepts and communicate effectively internally and externally.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience supporting U.S. Government programs and/or complex commercial transactions
- Litigation and/or investigative experience
- Experience supporting clients in the defense/intelligence communities
- Expertise with FAR, DFAR, and other U.S. Government agencies’ rules and practices
- Strong business acumen and ability to lead and/or contribute to a collaborative team environment
- An active U.S. DoD security clearance at the Secret level or higher.
