Job Summary:
The Associate Director, Legal and Compliance Administrator is a key role within the legal and compliance department, responsible for supporting internal counsel and interacting with outside counsel and managing and organizing documents and correspondence related to legal proceedings. This position ensures timely notification of relevant internal parties and collaborates with internal and external counsel in the handling of each legal matter. The role involves maintaining and updating the legal calendar, tracking progress, and managing critical deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize litigation documents and correspondence, ensuring timely notification to relevant internal and external parties
- Collaborate with internal and external counsel in the handling of each legal matter
- Maintain and update the legal calendar, tracking progress and critical deadlines
- Draft letters, notices, and memorandums for counsel review
- Work with counsel to identify responsive documents and communications and develop search terms
- Coordinate search implementation, download and review results, and transfer findings to external counsel
- Provide general administrative support to the legal and compliance department
- Balance multiple projects, matters, and requests simultaneously
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role within a corporate law department or law firm
- Strong analytical, drafting, review, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to contribute effectively as part of a team on collaborative projects
- Capable of working independently while ensuring communication and coordination with others
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word
