Position:   Corporate Litigation Paralegal

Location:   Atlanta, GA

 

Overview: 

GreenSky seeks to recruit a Corporate Litigation Paralegal to provide strong support to our Litigation Department, primarily assisting with providing litigation support, drafting settlement agreements, researching complaints and regulatory matters for responses, and providing support to responding to subpoenas (when needed). The paralegal’s time will also be spent carrying out routine tasks required in an in-house legal department, such as gathering and reviewing documents, scheduling meetings, file and database management, and providing general legal support.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support supervising counsel by regularly reviewing, managing, and following up on litigation deadlines, discovery responses, regulatory requests, and other deadlines.
  • Gather documents and prepare responses to subpoenas.
  • Draft, revise, and track settlement agreements.
  • Provide support to and communicate with outside counsel regarding pending litigation, including obtaining documents for research and production, answering general questions, and responding to discovery requests.
  • Communicate professionally with opposing counsel regarding litigation, pre-litigation, and other matters.
  • Organize, maintain, and supervise document collection for various matters.
  • Create, disseminate, and manage legal holds.
  • Prepare and manage case tracking and reports for third party partners.
  • Under supervision, respond to internal and external inquiries concerning the status of litigation and other matters for reporting.
  • Populate and revise contract templates under supervision.
  • Support e-discovery projects.
  • Under supervision, prepare business/legal communications to third parties.
  • Maintain complete and accurate electronic files for all matters and agreements.
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • BA/BS (preferably a degree that emphasizes written communications).
  • Will consider candidates with an Associate’s Degree as long as the individual holds a paralegal certificate.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a paralegal in a law firm or corporate legal department, with an emphasis on litigation support.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (both internally and externally).
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Pro.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Exceptionally well organized, detail oriented, and responsive.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of company personnel, partners, outside counsel, opposing counsel, court staff, vendors, and other third parties.
  • The ideal candidate will work well under pressure in our fast-paced environment and will be attentive and responsive to supervising counsel’s requests.
