Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: The Legal Intern is directly responsible for review of cases and assisting with legal matters concerning clients of the Guardianship Program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must be a candidate for J.D. Degree and currently enrolled in law school or a licensed attorney in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a member in good standing with the Board of Bar Overseers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with drafting correspondence, pleadings, and other documentation in connection with case work.
- Shadow case managers to learn legal aspect of treatment with antipsychotic medication.
- Become familiar with court forms and filing fees.
- Assist with court hearings, appeal hearings, etc.
- Assist with research for specific cases.
- Respond to reasonable expectations of the Agency and/or Program Director.
