ABOUT CCO CERTIFICATION:

CCO Certification (CCO) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO). NCCCO was formed in 1995 as a nonprofit organization with its mission to develop effective performance standards for safe load handling equipment operation to assist all segments of general industry and construction. 

CCO, established in 2014, supports NCCCO’s mission by developing effective performance standards; providing fair, valid, and reliable assessments; acting as an industry resource; and being the leader in providing certifications for those who work in and around load handling equipment. CCO is headquartered in Murray, UT and has an office in Palm Harbor, FL.


POSITION SUMMARY: 

The successful candidate will assist and provide a range of legal and administrative support to resolve routine legal and related issues. The position involves traditional in-house roles such as management of litigation and legal matters, risk mitigation, corporate issues, contract management, and IP management. Provides administrative support to attorneys while also assisting attorneys in preparing complex documents. Creates/transcribes records of highly sensitive meetings and conversations, prepares correspondence, annotates documents and files, and arranges appointments, calendars, and schedules. In addition, the position requires discretion, judgement, tact, and poise, as well as a broad range of skills relating to the management of sensitive legal matters. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with pending and potential litigation matters

· Litigation holds and follow up

· Responses to subpoenas 

· Pending litigation matters

· Performance of settlement agreements

· Legal projects and related research

  • Assist with management of trademarks

· Assist with preparation of trademark applications, and management of the trademark portfolio

· Communicate with outside trademark counsel

· Monitor trademark violations and potential infringements

· Assist with cease and desist letters and related efforts

  • Assist with registration and management of copyrights

· Prepare applications for copyright registration

· Assist with management of copyright registrations and content

· Maintain schedules of registered copyrights, content licensed to third-party clients, and content licensed from third parties 

  • Assist with management of leases, vendor contracts, and other agreements

· Assist with management of office leases, equipment leases, agreements with key vendors, and other contracts

· Manage contract database, contractual deadlines, and annual contract reviews

  • Assist with corporate filings and registrations 

· Assist with required corporate filings in various states

· Manage and track corporate filings and registrations

  • Assist with management of insurance policies 
  • Assist with disciplinary & test integrity matters/investigations

· Support investigations of legal, disciplinary & test integrity matters

· Draft correspondence regarding legal violations and disciplinary & test integrity matters

· Provide staff support as needed to applicable appeal committees 

· Assist in preparation of presentations regarding disciplinary & test integrity matters

· Support internal tracking of disciplinary & test integrity matters

  • Other duties as appropriate and assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Certification in Paralegal Studies (preferred but not required)
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Paralegal or in the legal field
  • Notary license a plus

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Acute attention to detail

Physical Requirements:

· This is largely a desk-bound position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs. Requires the ability occasionally to travel locally, regionally and nationally.


Expected Work Hours:

· Regular days/hours of work are Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. 

· Full-time position, with a salary commensurate with experience, education, and market rates, plus an exceptional benefits program.
