Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Are you a proactive paralegal who thrives on managing a diverse range of responsibilities? If so, this role is perfect for you!

You will provide calendaring support to CLO and others in the department. You will provide general assistance to the legal team including drafting various legal documents, agreements, contracts, letters, and legal memoranda, with precision and clarity in the areas of litigation and employment.  You will interact with other departments, internal and external clients, outside counsel, vendors, and others. You will work directly with Legal Operations to support projects and initiatives across the department.

This is a 6-month temp role with the possibility for full-time employment. This role is required to work in the Durham, NC office.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Litigation and Employment Support:
    • Assist with ongoing disputes and litigation matters.
    • Assist with employment-related litigation, including evidence preservation and document collection.
    • Assist with agreements, human resource matters, commercial and operational matters.
  • Deadline and Calendar Management:
    • Maintain deadlines, generate status reports, and ensure timely completion of tasks.
    • Demonstrate strong skills in managing calendars for very busy C Suite attorney.
    • Partner with other teams within the company and external parties to ensure efficient workflow and handling of requests.
  • Technology:
    • Maintain, and/or manage one or more department workflow processes. Repots, tools or databases.
    • Produce excel spreadsheets, utilize Smartsheets, Sharepoint, Teams, and learn new technology as needed.
    • Coordinate project management calendar and tasks
  • Financial Acumen:
    • Manage relationships and coordinate work product with outside service providers.
    • Support outside counsel billing, accrual tracking and internal invoice routing.
    • Collaborate with finance to create and maintain PO’s for the department, Oracle experience welcome.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; paralegal certificate required.
  • 3+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience working with employment and litigation matters.
  • Ability to manage numerous diverse project that require interaction with multiple attorneys, departments, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills. Attention to detail and accuracy a must.
  • Experience with drafting contracts and memos.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and legal environments.
