**Must be a U.S. Citizen, possess good-excellent credit, able to obtain a DOJ MBI Clearance and will be subject to a background/credit screen prior to employment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works under the direction of Supervisory Paralegal or Project Supervisor.
- Directly and independently support one or more AUSAs by providing a wide variety of technical paralegal services, particularly in Affirmative Civil Enforcement (ACE) investigations and trials.
- Gathers factual material independently; reads, annotates, and summarizes transcripts, files and other factual aspects of the case; obtains financial and statistical information, agency records, court records and other public records; analyzes documents, and drafts factual memoranda.
- Reviews and analyzes the financial and management operations of a variety of organizations.
- Gathers and examines a wide array of financial documents obtained from a variety of sources, including financial statements, billing records, invoices, data processing material, bank records, and other documents.
- Performs simple legal research; indexes, tracks and controls exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial.
- Assists attorneys in courtroom; prepares exhibit cross-references.
- Screens documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria.
- Research discrimination complaints.
- Interviews community stakeholders, victims, and residents.
- Assists trial attorneys with vetting expert consultants, scheduling court reporters, cite checking, preparing trial exhibits, preparing briefing and witness materials.
- Assists with document coding and reviewing production of records and case related discovery.
- Assists trial attorneys in civil court proceedings.
REQUIREMENTS
- Requires paralegal certificate, degree in paralegal studies, or JD.
- At least two years of litigation paralegal experience required; trial experience very helpful. Automated litigation support experience very helpful.
- Must have basic legal knowledge, including knowledge of standard legal citation system sufficient to perform basic legal research.
- Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and WestLaw.
- Should have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, imaging and telecommunications.
- Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
PAY RATE:
- $25.39/hour
