Fluidra is seeking a Global IP Paralegal to join our Legal team in Atlanta, GA.  
 
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE     
This position will report to the VP, Deputy General Counsel and will be responsible for assisting in the management of Fluidra’s global intellectual property portfolio, which includes IP assets in 45 countries, and must be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Additionally, you will:
  • Must possess an understanding of global intellectual property law and management of global IP assets
  • Management of Company’s global IP portfolio, including patent portfolio and trademark portfolio
  • Manage and assist with the administration of patent annuities and trademark renewals globally
  • Manage and assist with the prosecution of new patents and registration of new trademarks globally
  • Provide support in connection with the protection of domains globally
  • Assist with patent infringement and trademark enforcement actions, including litigation support
  • Support brand protection initiatives of the North American organization
  • Work with business partners globally as it relates to IP related matters
  • Partner with outside law firms who manage the global patent and trademark portfolios
Due to the nature of the position within the company, the candidate will be required to exercise discretion and sound judgment concerning confidential information. The candidate must conduct all activities in a manner, which is at all times fair, moral, ethical, and legal.   
  
WHAT WE SEEK      
  • At least five (5) years significant experience in an IP paralegal or IP coordinator role, including law firm experience or in-house experience Individuals without prior experience managing/coordinating global patent or trademark portfolios will not be considered.  
  • Preference will be given to bi-lingual Spanish speaking candidates and candidates with international experience  
  • Excellent technical skills in the area of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential  
  • Ability to think and work independently and possess excellent time management skills in order to meet goals and deadlines under sometimes pressured conditions 
  • Provide work product in a manner that shows a comprehensive understanding of the business needs of the Company and be resourceful and reliable in handling and completing matters 
  • The ability to manage competing projects/tasks and keep up with a heavy workload through effective organization and focused effort is required    
  • Candidates must also have the discipline and drive to achieve aggressive departmental objectives  
  • Ability to think and work independently and possess excellent time management skills in order to meet goals and deadlines under sometimes pressured conditions 
  • Strong attention to detail 
EDUCATION  
  • Associate of Arts or Bachelor’s degree and/or completion of an ABA certified paralegal program
