POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for handling a variety of legal matters pertaining to the optical industry at Fielmann USA. Review and negotiate contracts, resolve legal disputes, and advise on
regulatory compliance issues. Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide general legal support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
LEGAL RESEARCH & ADVICE
• Draft and review contracts, leases, corporate governance, and other legal
documents
• Assist with resolution of legal disputes and regulatory compliance matters
• Conduct legal research and provide written and oral advice to the Company
• Collaborate with internal departments to provide legal support and guidance
• Assist with development and implementation of company policies and procedures
• Maintain company database of legal documents and ensure compliance
• Prepare and maintain documentation for state licensing requirements
• Research and provide guidance regarding required policies and procedures to
comply with state and local laws
• Keep up to date with changes in laws and regulations that may affect the optical
industry
• Handle other legal matters as assigned by General Counsel
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the state bar association in Wisconsin
• Minimum 3 years of experience practicing law, preferably in the optical/healthcare
industry
• Strong knowledge of contract law and regulatory compliance
• Proven track record of corporate governance and risk management
• Knowledge of statutes, rules and regulations pertaining to business operations
• Proficient understanding of business sensitivities and confidentiality
• Able to work cross-functionally with attention to detail and follow through
• Solid interpersonal relationship skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a large corporate environment
• Able to analyze and solve issues of varied scope: able to act decisively to
implement solutions
• Solid organizational and planning skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of programs
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written
and two-way verbal communication
• Able to read and write at a high school graduate level
• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to operate various office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, fax
machine, copier, etc.)
• Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours
to meet established deadlines
• Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal
