Job Description

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed\:

·       Minimum 5+ years of Immigration Law experience in corporate setting or immigration specialty law firm handling employment related immigration matters

·       Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications

·       Strong interpersonal skills

·       Record of moving legal cases forward and ability to manage a high-volume caseload

·       Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

·       Admission to the State Bar of Florida or able to obtain Authorized In-House Counsel Status

·       International knowledge and culture differences

·       Bilingual communication, both written and verbal

The role you’ll contribute:

This position will report to and work closely with the Deputy Chief Legal Officer/Chief Legal Officer and will also collaborate with other leaders in the Legal and HR functions providing legal counsel and support for international and/or cross-border employment matters.

·       Support business units in talent acquisition and hiring of international candidates by advising and creating and filing necessary documentation for employment.

·       Advise and counsel internal team members regarding compliance with existing immigration laws and new legislation with a focus on jurisdictions outside the U.S.

·       Analyze, draft, negotiate, review and revise agreements, policies, and programs relating to international employment relationships.

·       Monitor and stay current on critical legal developments in key countries and regions to ensure the business timely adjusts policies, practices, and procedures.

·       Develop and conduct training and workshops to support implementation of systems, software and/or toolkits to maximize sustainability.

·       Manage a caseload, interact with hiring leaders, and collaborate with the International Strategy team.

·       Strategically lead talent acquisition efforts to create an international talent pool to support business leads.

·       Research to obtain information commonly maintained by government entities; initiates contact and alerts international team regarding potential process delays/problems/updates.

·       Prepare application materials required for all services offered, including but not limited to\: new documents (procurement), authenticated documents, consular visas, passports, work permits, residence permits, and extensions of same.

·       Responsible for accurately maintaining internal database to ensure all data is recorded and all appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner to pro-actively drive the case forward and keep HR and Hiring leaders updated in real time.

·       Evaluate cases, relay concerns, and proactively escalate to the appropriate team member(s)/managers.

·       Administrative duties associated with global immigration case management, including, but not limited to:

·     Process payments and/or reimbursements.

·     Process invoices.

·     Submit receipts.

·     Generate reports.

·     Maintain required legal documentation.

·     Complete competence of case types previously managed and continually strives to advance and broaden knowledge base; demonstrate increasing levels of independence in case handling.

·     Communicate (written, spoken, and reading comprehension) at a professional level in English, and improve knowledge of other foreign languages necessary for casework.
