Lead Commercial Counsel

The Opportunity
JLL Technologies aligns JLL’s technology and digital initiatives while accelerating innovation in commercial real estate for our investor and occupier clients. The mission is to leverage technology to increase the value and liquidity of the world’s buildings while enhancing the happiness and productivity of those who occupy them.
We are currently seeking a Lead Commercial Counsel for our rapidly growing JLL Technologies platform. The position will focus on providing strategic legal counseling to internal commercial teams in order to help sell a suite of SaaS products and services as well as service our in-house venture fund and Proptech incubator. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing legal team in an exciting, fast-paced tech focused environment.
This strategic role reports directly to JLL Technologies’ General Counsel.
The Responsibilities
Structuring, drafting, and discussing complex customer agreements for SaaS and other technology enabled products and services, professional services agreements, data processing agreements, intellectual property agreements, and statements of work
Leading a small but high performing team of counsel and paralegals
Managing agreements that comply with company policies/risk tolerances and support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes
Knowledge of US laws and regulations as they apply to SaaS service providers, including privacy, data managing, security, and compliance requirements, as well as the supervisory bodies that issue such regulations.
Provide expert and strategic legal advice to management on all commercial matters
Keep abreast of legislative changes and proactively making recommendations for policy or product changes to protect JLL Technologies
Provide training to the business in relation to legal and risk issues
Create best in class templates and playbooks

The Requirements
J.D. degree and membership in at least on U.S. state bar
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Experience collaborating with and leading cross-functional teams to get the job done

Estimated total compensation for this position:
185,000.00 – 225,000.00 USD per yearThe total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on an applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data .
