A Brief Overview

As Safelite’s Legal Intern, you will assist with legal research, contract review, and compliance matters. You will gain hands-on experience in employment and corporate law, support the team in day-to-day legal operations, and help ensure the company's adherence to industry regulations. This role offers a valuable opportunity to develop practical legal skills in a dynamic business environment. 

What you will do

  • Legal Research: Conducting research on various legal issues, case laws, and regulations relevant to the company's operations. 

  • Contract Review: Assisting in the review, drafting, and negotiation of contracts and agreements. 

  • Compliance Support: Helping ensure the company adheres to industry regulations and internal policies. 

  • Document Management: Organizing and maintaining legal documents, files, and records. 

  • Litigation Support: Assisting with preparation for litigation, including drafting pleadings and discovery documents. 

  • Conducting research on legal issues, and regulations to support the legal team 

  • Assisting in the review and drafting of contracts and agreements 

  • Helping ensure the company adheres to industry regulations and internal policies

  •  Organzing and maintaing legal documents, files, and records.

  • Gathering documents and communicating with outside counsel to assist on litigation matters 

  • Performing general administrative duties, including drafting correspondence and supporting the legal team in day to day operations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Complies with all policies and standards 

  

What you will bring

  • Currently enrolled in law school, completing at least one year of study Required

  • Knowledge of principals, practices, methods and materials of legal research and analysis (High proficiency)

  • Passion and interest in Litigation, corporate law, and/or transactional law (High proficiency)

  • Ability to research legal issues and present a clear and logical argument and statement of facts and law (High proficiency)

  • Strong communicator with the ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) and build rapport with legal team and various internal customers (High proficiency)

  • Ability to work full-time in the summer, with the potential opportunity to work part time (approximately 15-20 hours per week) throughout the school year. (High proficiency)

  • Can work independently and has willingness to anticipate the needs of a particular matter by being proactive (High proficiency)
