Miles & Stockbridge, P.C., a mid-Atlantic-based Am Law 200 firm, seeks a junior level associate to join its Bankruptcy team, with 2+ years’ experience.
The ideal candidate will have previous bankruptcy experience in a law firm and will have exposure to advising secured and unsecured creditors, landlords, and other parties-in-interest. An understanding of all aspects of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights matters and related litigation is required with a focus on real estate also preferred. Experience and willingness to learn in areas including complex commercial real estate disputes, commercial foreclosures and receivership proceedings. Attorney responsibilities will also include working with partners on complex finance transactions, drafting and negotiating loan documents and other transaction documents, and due diligence review.
Qualified candidates must also possess a high level of academic achievement, law firm experience and superb writing, drafting and communication skills. We are particularly interested in candidates who have the ambition, drive, and team-orientation to help grow and support our practice. JD required. Candidates would work in our Washington, D.C. or Tysons, VA office and must be admitted to practice in the jurisdiction of the residing office. Base Compensation: $190,000 to $205,000.00 / year
The pay range provided is in compliance with state, city, or local employment laws and applies to this location only. Actual pay for this position will be determined based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, current market data, and business needs.
