Overview

Are you looking to showcase your legal experience and join a team that shows up for their clients every day? If so, the Columbia, SC office of Nelson Mullins wants to speak to you! We are looking to add an experienced Administrative Assistant to our Litigation Team.

A Day in the Life

You’ll provide a high-level of administrative support and assistance to an active litigation team. This position requires someone who's ready and willing to jump in and take charge, as no two days will be the same. You will assist in the management of each attorney’s caseload by maintaining calendars, docketing all case-related deadlines, coordinating conference calls, and managing travel arrangements. You will be responsible for preparing, proofreading, revising, and finalizing legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, and discovery. You will be responsible for daily electronic and hard copy document management. Also, you will schedule depositions and other client meetings, communicate with clients as necessary, and assist with trial preparations. You should be comfortable running conflict checks, opening new client/matter engagements, setting-up billing requirements for clients, and inputting attorney time in time entries using timekeeping software. Additional assignments include maintaining and updating contacts, assisting with billing/client invoices, and other clerical assignments as delegated.

We’re looking for someone with the following qualifications:

 

3+ years of recent State and Federal litigation experience within a law firm

Familiarity with South Carolina court rules and procedures

Proficiency using Microsoft Suite products
