Newly Licensed Attorney - Property Tax Appeals

Company Overview: O’Connor & Associates is a leading property tax consulting company providing tax appeal services across multiple states.  We represent residential and commercial property owners in challenging unfair tax assessments to ensure equitable property taxation. As we expand our national footprint, we are seeking newly licensed attorneys who are eager to develop expertise in ad valorem taxation and build a rewarding career in property tax appeals. 

Position Overview: This role involves analyzing property valuations, preparing persuasive evidence, negotiating with appraisal districts and advocating for fair tax assessments.  Extensive hands-on training will be provided, equipping attorneys with the specialized knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in property tax appeals. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with a  strong work ethic, exceptional communication skills, and a keen interest in property taxation. 

Key Responsibilities: 

· Represent clients in property tax appeals before Appraisal Review Board and other administrative tribunals. 

· Prepare and present arguments, evidence and supporting documentation to challenge over assessed property values. 

· Attend settlement conferences and negotiate favorable resolutions for property owners. 

· Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school 

· UBE score eligibility (minimum score of 270); licensed or able to be licensed in multiple states

· Self-starter with a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently, and excellent time management skills

· Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

· Entrepreneurial mindset, with an interest in building a client-focused practice within the property tax appeal sector
