The Motor Vehicles Professionals (MVP) Program is a starting point for an exciting career at the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) at the Division of Motor Vehicles (NCDMV). Through this 18-month full-time, paid program, you will gain exposure to a variety of opportunities in the various fields of discipline and work within NCDMV. As you progress through this structured program, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in the various units that comprise the scope of the DMV which include Business Services, Commissioner’s Office, Customer Compliance, Driver Services, Training and Development, Safety and Vehicle Services. The program is designed for highly motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to NCDMV’s operations including administrative, business, legislative and public relations.
This MVP Program Coordinator I Trainee will be assigned to the Vehicle Services Director’s office. This section within the division oversees and manages multiple and varied, critical and complex statewide programs. This position will serve as support to upper management positions within Vehicle Services. You will be trained to assist with License Plate Agency (LPA) oversight and review Online Dealer contracts for processing. In addition, training will include learning to inspect documents, process and issue title and registration documents and cash handling procedures. You will also be guided in observing North Carolina General Statutes, Federal and State guidelines as well as Division policy and procedures as it relates to this section. Position primarily based in Rocky Mount, NC (Nash County) with required travel outside of Nash County.
As an entry level professional at the NCDOT/DMV, MVP Program Coordinators are offered a starting salary of $37,782 and are eligible to receive salary adjustments with satisfactory work evaluations. Upon completion of the program, MVP Program Coordinators may be eligible to transfer into a Program Coordinator I position at $50,438.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
The following are the minimum requirements to be eligible for the NC DMV MVP Program Coordinator I Trainee in Vehicle Services:
- Experience with customer service by phone and/or in person with diverse clientele.
- Experience analyzing, interpreting, and/or evaluating information or data.
- Experience researching and resolving problems to make independent decisions as needed.
- Experience interpreting and explaining policy and procedures, rules, regulation, and/or laws using excellent communication skills.
- Experience in recording, compiling, summarizing & analyzing data and developing/updating reports using MS office products and/or Mainframe databases.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
