
Job Description:
ATTORNEYS’ TITLE FUND SERVICES (The Fund)
Summary of the role:
Maintain, analyze, reconcile, post and report on assigned general ledger accounts, guided by precedent, and working within the limits of established policies.
Some of the responsibilities include:
- Analyze, balance, reconcile, and maintain assigned general ledger accounts. Ensure accuracy and that all pertinent data is recorded.
- Determine the necessary journal entries to record or correct transactions.
- Prepare and record the appropriate accounting journal entries including monthly accruals.
- Issue periodic and special reports to management and others as required.
- Prepare schedules for year-end reporting and annual audits. Assist with the annual audit.
- Participate in departmental cross-training and maintain currency of knowledge and skills to be able to provide back up for other Accounting Department positions.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of written procedures within area of responsibility.
- Assist with the proofing of A/P invoices and ensure accuracy of account coding.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or four or more years of professional work-related experience required.
Experience:
Minimum one year of General Ledger accounting experience required.

- Understanding of financial transactions and accounting implications
- Proficiency in mathematics with analytical skills
- Oral and written communication skills
- Ability to learn and utilize internal computer applications and accounting systems
- Proficiency in account reconciliation and balancing
- Establishing priorities and meeting established deadlines
