What You’ll Do

The Legal Summer (June - August) Intern for the Entertainment Division of the Legal Department at Authentic Brands Group will work with the attorneys and business team members to review and streamline existing contract request processes, assist in the update and creation of new form contracts, and prepare initial contact drafts as well as participate in other daily tasks. You will have the opportunity to sit in on meetings with attorneys and business team members in order to observe and learn key legal communication and negotiation skills. 

 

What you’ll be Working on

 Reviewing, summarizing and/or assisting with the preparation and drafting of contract request forms, form agreements and initial contract drafts relating to endorsements, sponsorships, live events and intellectual property licensing (with an emphasis on trademarks and copyrights) within the entertainment brands and general commercial matters;   
 Coordinating directly and efficiently with colleagues from Authentic’s business development, brand management, and marketing teams;
 Assist in-house counsel with ongoing general matters for the Legal Department, as required in the day-to-day functioning of the Company and the Legal Department.

 

Must Haves

 Must currently be in law school
 Must be interested in learning about the entertainment industry
 Must be able to be in our NYC office 
 Must be able to work 2 days per week up to 20 hours per week
 Must have strong writing and communication skills and a demonstrated interest in transactional law, with an additional preference/interest in intellectual property law and/or in licensing of entertainment/sports brands

 

Primary Location Salary Range:

The hourly rate for an undergraduate student intern in New York is $18
The hourly rate for a graduate student intern in New York is $22
