Our respected client in law practice is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney with a focus on General Liability in the field of Insurance Defense. This full-time role is well-suited for an attorney who is comfortable and confident in taking on insurance defense matters, possessing between 2 to 4 years of related legal experience.
Title: Associate Attorney (Insurance Defense 100%)
Location: Wilmington, DE
Salary: $125k-$140k (commensurate on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in a wide range of general liability insurance defense cases.
- Prepare and argue motions, including motions for summary judgment and motions to dismiss.
- Engage in the discovery process including the drafting of discovery requests and responses, and the taking and defending of depositions.
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis on various aspects of general liability law.
- Draft pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents pertaining to case management.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of the firm’s clients where appropriate.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and legal advice.
- Collaborate with other attorneys to execute effective defense strategies and trial preparation.
- Attend court appearances, hearings, arbitrations, and mediations as required.
Qualifications:
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school and admission to the Bar.
- 2-4 years of experience specifically within the area of insurance defense or general liability.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload independently.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Capability to work cohesively within a team and foster professional relationships.
- Detail-oriented with an unwavering commitment to legal ethics and client confidentiality.
