
Ibotta is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as Legal Counsel and join our innovative team and contribute to our mission to Make Every Purchase Rewarding. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of business legal expertise, business acumen, and commitment to our Company mission. With a focus on commercial contracting, the Legal Counsel will play a crucial role in facilitating agreements, managing risk, and advising on commercial and procurement issues. There is great growth opportunity to expand into other areas of an in-house practice, including employment law, data privacy, compliance, and many other legal issues.
This position is located in Denver, Colorado as a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office, (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Candidates must reside in the United States.
What you will be doing:
Draft and negotiate commercial legal agreements in collaboration with Ibotta’s revenue organization, including master services agreements, statements of work, insertion orders, marketing agreements, vendor agreements, and data license agreements
Draft and negotiate agreements in collaboration with Ibotta’s procurement committee for Ibotta’s vendors
Employ negotiation skills that optimize collaboration across departments, merging business acumen with legal expertise to facilitate the efforts of various teams
Ensure agreements and transactions with customers and partners comply with Ibotta’s policies and applicable laws
Optimize and enhance Ibotta’s contract management lifecycle policies, procedures, and tools
Keep internal and external stakeholders informed on key legal and regulatory developments affecting Ibotta's business and industry
Provide legal support in connection with developing risk-management processes and resolving potential compliance issues
Roll up your sleeves to take on tasks both big and small with low ego and a collaborative approach in a fast-paced environment
Address other ad-hoc or specialized legal issues as they arise

What we are looking for:
4-6 years of professional experience - a combination of law firm and in-house experience is preferred
J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the Colorado bar is required
Technology commercial agreement familiarity (e.g., SaaS agreements, data licensing and protection agreements)
Expertise in contract drafting and negotiation while balancing legal and financial issues
Experience managing a high volume of revenue, procurement, and other contract requests
Proven ability to build and improve operationally excellent processes
Experience with contract lifecycle management platforms (e.g., Conga)
Proven interpersonal and presentation skills, and ability to develop a strong rapport and working relationship with business counterparts
A keen sense of ownership, desire to learn, and make a cross-functional impact
Public companies experience a bonus
Exposure to employment practices, privacy, corporate governance, securities, and commercial litigation a bonus

Base compensation range: $130,000 - $150,000. Equity is included in the overall compensation package. Total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to base salary. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience.
