Counsel, Professional Liability and Claims - Morristown NJ

• Responsible for overseeing the claims function, ensuring the timely and proper disposition of all claims made against corporation, licensed professionals and other employees from the identification of a claim through the resolution of the claim.
  
  
  Principal Accountabilities:
  
  Reviews new claims with in-house counsel regarding liability and management plan. 
• Engages in arbitration and mediation and supports defense counsel in case resolution.
• Reviews quarterly defense counsel litigation reports and assists in strategic defense of the case. 
• Possesses the overall trial responsibility, including coordination of witness/defendant appearances.
• Plans and prepares claim related committee meetings. 
• Performs regulatory reporting requirements associated with claims settlements. 
• Oversees claims strategy of in-house counsel claims management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience/Education
•    Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited School of Law
•    5 years claims handling experience preferred

• Admission to New Jersey State Bar highly preferred
