Aqua Finance is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Intern to support the Legal Department with research, organization, and maintenance of legal and regulatory resources. This internship provides hands-on experience assisting with state consumer finance law research, corporate governance activities, and the development of internal legal reference materials used across the organization. The role offers valuable exposure to corporate legal operations while building foundational skills in legal research, documentation, and compliance support.
Essential Functions
Contribute to a defined project to maintain and enhance the State consumer finance law library, gaining hands-on experience with legal research, issue spotting, and regulatory tracking
Participate in projects to organize, develop, and implement legal and regulatory resources used by the Legal Department and business partners across the company
Support corporate governance projects by assisting with the review and organization of company structures and governance documentation, gaining exposure to real-world corporate legal operations
Education and Experience
Currently enrolled at a University or College at a minimum of Junior Undergraduate Status
Pursuing a degree in pre-law, business, or a related field
Completion of relevant coursework related to your field of study prior to the start of the internship
Strong attention to detail and effective verbal and written communication skills
Internship will run from mid-May through mid-August
Ability to commit to 40 hours per week during the internship period
Availability to participate for at least 9 weeks of the 12-week program
This is an onsite internship; interns will be required to work at our corporate location in Wausau, WI for the duration of the internship.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee regularly uses a computer and may be to sit, stand, walk, see, communicate, and handle or manipulate objects or controls. The role involves extended periods of working at a computer and may require occasional lifting, pushing, or pulling of up to 20 pounds.
This is primarily an office-based position with a significant portion of the work performed at a computer.
