
The First American Law Group, a division of First American Title Insurance Company, provides an excellent opportunity for counsel to manage their own caseload in a collegial environment with an opportunity for long-term growth and advancement.
Law Group Counsel are responsible for litigating matters arising from title insurance claims, escrow disputes, and claims against the company.
What You'll Do
- Manage litigation arising under title insurance policies and escrow disputes
- Manage a caseload from initial investigation to final appeal, including preparing and filing pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, and attending hearings, depositions, and trials.
- Represent insured owners and lenders in resolving title insurance claims arising from defective or fraudulent conveyances and mortgages, priority disputes, boundary disputes, legal access, competing chains of title, and encroachments.
What You'll Bring
- Law degree required, member of the Florida Bar.
- Minimum 5+ year’s professional litigation experience with emphasis on real estate matters, including experience with trials, hearings, depositions, and mediations. Specific expertise with title insurance defense and escrow litigation highly desirable.
- Strong critical thinking, decision making skills and analytical skills.
- Excellent communications, negotiation, and organizational skills.
