Job Description

RumbergerKirk is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorney with 3-5 years’ experience in general civil litigation defense, with an emphasis on tort work and first party defense practice. As an Associate Attorney at RumbergerKirk, you will take on substantial responsibility, including direct client interaction, drafting pleadings, and motions, conducting discovery and participating in depositions and court appearances. Position Details:

  • Represent clients in all phases of litigation involving first – and third – party cases.
  • Conduct depositions, attend hearings, mediations, and argue motions.
  • Interview witnesses, expert depositions, negotiate with opposing counsel.
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions, memoranda, settlement agreements, and trial documents.

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in insurance defense. Litigation experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: casualty, premise liability, product liability, first-party property, or complex litigation.
  • Ability to handle files from inception to trial.
  • Experience with depositions, hearings, meditations and trial.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent research and writing abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong legal research skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.
