The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, pro-active, and possesses a strong academic record. Candidate should also possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills; comfort with prioritizing and balancing a variety of tasks is critical.
The ideal candidate enjoys the challenge of working in a fast-paced and dynamic legal practice. The candidate will be expected to work in the office full-time, 5 days per week, to be flexible in terms of availability with overtime occasionally.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all stages of investigation and litigation, including coordinating witness interviews, investigation tasks, and trial preparation
- Assist in preparing and filing legal documents in courts across the country
- Manage subpoena responses, including review of documents, bates labeling, compiling information for discovery responses/pleadings/motions, preparing privilege logs
- Develop systems to track information and assist with document acquisition and organization
- Review and analyze documents for content, and report detailed findings in narrative and chart/summary form
- Draft initial correspondence and complete basic motion drafting, proofreading
- File management (create, organize, track and maintain files; monitor calendars and meeting deadlines; document actions; input information into file database and case management software)
- Perform factual research and investigation
- Utilize computer databases to organize, store and access information; conduct basic research on LEXIS, Westlaw and other online computer assisted research databases
Qualifications
- Superior communication skills required
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Detail oriented, able to work independently, and possess excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills
- Must have the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel and database applications a plus
- A four-year bachelor's degree required
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,00 and represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location.
