About the job
The Paralegal assists and supports attorneys with research and document preparation for court proceedings and legal transactions. Utilizes a variety of sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes to research and analyze legal topics. Drafts and edits legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, motions, and contracts. Conducts fact-finding, data collection, and analysis used to prepare statements and arguments. Works closely with the company's internal and external lawyers and outside vendors, depending on needs at that time. Assists attorneys with depositions, interviews, discovery, and investigations. Manages, organizes, and archives documents with software tools and technology. Applies specialized legal terminology appropriately in documents. The normal shift is 40 hours per week, with periodic extended hours, as needed. Other duties as assigned by management.
Essential Functions
- Project management and organization of litigation cases, corporate transactions, and regulatory matters
- Conduct research and analysis utilizing internal and external resources, as directed by supervising lawyers
- Assist with document collection and production
- Assembling, organizing, and circulating case materials
- Assist with deposition, interview, hearing and trial preparation
- Coordination with outside vendors
- Drafting cover letters/memos
- Search for and review due diligence materials
- Proofreading a variety of documents
- Assist with SEC filings, where necessary
- Notarizing documents
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Knowledge of legal/paralegal environments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills; detail-oriented
- Good interpersonal skills
- Able to work under pressure and multitask when required
- High degree of initiative and self-motivation
- Responsible for being knowledgeable of and acting in strict accordance with the requirements of all relevant laws, regulations, and Company policies, including, among other areas, Food and Drug Administration regulations.

- Prior legal experienced preferred, but not required
