The Role You Will Play
- Review and interpret estate planning documents.
- Draft estate planning documents like simple wills, powers of attorney, health care declarations, and fiduciary succession documents.
- Assist with asset transfers and beneficiary designations, including preparing deeds and trust account forms.
- Prepare probate forms for estate administration and accountings for estates and trusts.
- Prepare and file state and federal income, estate, and gift tax returns, and perform additional tasks to support client service.
Background Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree or at least five years of experience as a trust and estates paralegal, with a minimum of three years in a related role.
- Familiarity with federal tax Forms 1040, 1041, 706, and 709.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with strong attention to detail and excellent math skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional appearance and demeanor.
