The Paralegal will assist attorneys within the Legal Advisory and Distribution group with general legal research tied to state, federal and foreign rules, regulations and laws. Paralegal will also provide assistance in basic contract drafting/reviewing for the adviser including, NDAs, vendor agreements, and sponsored events agreements. In addition, the paralegal will provide administrative and legal support to other internal departments and committees, and assist in resolving a variety of legal and compliance related issues. This is a hybrid position and requires employees to be in the office 3 days a week and is located in Boston, MA.
What you will do:
- Under supervision of reviewing attorneys, draft and review agreements with the ability to provide stakeholders with accurate and concise comments
- Assist with corporate governance matters including scheduling meetings, drafting meeting material, drafting accurate meeting minutes, and finalizing all meeting materials
- Annual coordination of limited partnership filing with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for multiple entities
- Under the supervision of reviewing attorneys, provide legal and compliance consulting services, create legal memorandum, provide legal support and compliance training to internal departments
- Monthly monitoring of class action events
- Serve as primary legal and compliance resource on assigned projects under the supervision of an attorney
- Support Legal Advisory and Distribution group attorneys as needed
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate
- At least 1 year of legal or compliance experience within the finance industry preferred
- Proficiency with legal research and language
- Excellent Microsoft Office suite skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational, problem solving and communication skills are required
- Proficiency in handling detailed work assignments/projects
- Strong ability to work independently or with little direction, under the supervision of an attorney
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and expand responsibilities
- Experience with SharePoint, Diligent Board and/or Dilitrust systems preferred
