Description

JOB PURPOSE

Manage personal injury cases post-intake through settlement. This includes communicating with clients and supporting attorneys by gathering evidence, managing case files, conducting legal research, drafting demand letters, coordinating settlements, and ensuring timely compliance with all legal requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct initial interviews to gather case facts, explain pre-litigation process, and serve as point of contact, ensuring clients are informed and supported.

Gather and evaluate key documents such as police reports, witness statements, and photographs to build a strong foundation for personal injury claims.

Maintain organized and accurate case files, ensuring all evidence and records are properly documented and easily accessible for legal review.

Perform targeted legal research to identify relevant laws and precedents, supporting attorneys in crafting effective case strategies.

Draft clear and persuasive demand letters outlining claims and damages, and assist attorneys during settlement negotiations with opposing parties or insurers.

Prepare settlement documents and support finalization process, ensuring all legal and procedural steps are completed for case resolution.

Track critical deadlines, court dates, and procedural timelines to ensure timely compliance with legal requirements.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in paralegal or legal studies, or a related field or equivalent experience.

2+ years of experience in a legal support or paralegal role.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Demonstrated proficiency in managing client communication with professionalism and empathy to support case development.

Skilled in gathering and analyzing evidence, maintaining organized case files, and conducting legal research to support pre-litigation strategies.

Strong legal writing abilities, including drafting demand letters and professional legal correspondence.

Familiarity with settlement procedures and legal documentation relevant to personal injury and pre-litigation cases.

Excellent time management and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.

High attention to detail and proven ability to multitask effectively while maintaining accuracy across casework.

Proficient in using case management software, legal research platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite to enhance workflow and documentation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

Paralegal certification from an accredited institution.

A background in personal injury or civil litigation.
