
JOB PURPOSE
Manage a legal support team while maintaining a caseload of personal injury cases post-intake through settlement. This includes managing and coaching staff, overseeing case progress, and collaborating on case strategy and operational efficiencies. This also includes communicating with clients, gathering evidence, managing case files, conducting legal research, drafting demand letters, coordinating settlements, and ensuring compliance with legal procedures and deadlines.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and supervise a team of pre-litigation paralegals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
Coordinate workload distribution to ensure balanced caseloads and efficient case progression across team.
Conduct initial client interviews, explain pre-litigation process, and serve as point of contact for assigned cases.
Gather and evaluate evidence, including police reports, witness statements, and photographs, to support personal injury claims.
Maintain organized case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and accessible for legal review.
Perform legal research to identify relevant laws and precedents that inform case strategy and support attorneys.
Draft persuasive demand letters outlining claims and damages, and assist in settlement negotiations with insurers or opposing counsel.
Prepare settlement documents and oversee resolution process to ensure compliance with legal and procedural requirements.
Track critical deadlines and procedural timelines to ensure timely action and avoid delays or missed opportunities.
Collaborate with attorneys, firm administrator and other departments to improve workflows, enhance client service, and support strategic goals.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in paralegal or legal studies, or a related field or equivalent experience.
5+ years of personal injury paralegal experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Proven ability to manage a caseload while supervising and coaching a paralegal team, ensuring performance, collaboration, and legal compliance.
Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience delegating tasks, providing feedback, and fostering a supportive, productive work environment.
Demonstrated proficiency in managing client communication with professionalism and empathy to support case development and maintain satisfaction.
Skilled in gathering and analyzing evidence, organizing case files, and conducting legal research to support pre-litigation strategies and preparation.
Strong legal writing abilities, including drafting demand letters and professional legal correspondence that contribute to effective case resolution.
Familiarity with settlement procedures and legal documentation relevant to personal injury and pre-litigation cases.
Excellent time management and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
High attention to detail and proven ability to multitask effectively, ensuring accuracy across casework while managing multiple responsibilities.
Proficient in using case management software, legal research platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite to enhance workflow and team coordination.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Paralegal certification from an accredited institution.
A background in personal injury or civil litigation.
