Job Description

We are seeking a Real Estate Attorney with strong transactional experience and a demonstrated ability to navigate all components of a transaction involving both private sector and public agency transactions, as well  as  resolution  of  a  multitude  of  issues  surrounding  the  sale,  purchase,  lease  and  financing  of commercial, industrial, community, and residential real estate. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across both commercial and residential matters, and have familiarity with managing a real estate transaction, disputes and negotiations, condemnation matters, public contracts, and regulatory frameworks.

Requirements

Essential functions include, but are not limited to the below:

  • Represent clients through all aspects of a real estate transaction, including drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, development agreements, leases, easements, financing documents, and related real estate instruments.
  • Conduct and manage due diligence, including title, survey, zoning, and environmental reviews.
  • Advise public sector clients on real estate sales and acquisitions, leases, public-private partnerships (P3s), and redevelopment agreements.
  • Advise clients on zoning, land use, and other regulatory matters.
  • Represent clients in real estate disputes; landlord-tenant experience is a plus.
  • Coordinate and conduct real estate closings, financing transactions, and interagency agreements. 
  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas including land use, municipal law, governmental, public finance, school and construction.
  • Stay up to date on relevant legal developments and industry trends and research and prepare memoranda on a variety of legal issues.
  • Represent client in legal proceedings that may involve court appearances, administrative hearings, depositions and meetings. 
  • Prepare and enter daily time entries. 

Requirements include, but are not limited to the below:

  • Law degree from an accredited law school with license to practice law in New Jersey and in good standing.  Pennsylvania and/or New York Bar admissions is a plus. 
  •  Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant real estate law experience.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, research, writing and legal analytical skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in oral and written form with strong attention to detail.
  • A book of business is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Ability to work independently, efficiently and to establish work priorities.
  • Ability to work within established systems and processes involving extensive collaboration with other attorneys, paralegals and office staff.
  • Interest in long-term client relationships and business development. 
  • Comfortable meeting with, and directly advising, clients and public speaking. 
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial. 
  • Strong work ethic.




Salary Description
$115,000 -$130,000 salary range per year.
