Job Description

**Job Summary:**
The Assistant County Attorney will support the County Attorney in providing legal advice and representation to the county government. This role involves conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, and assisting in courtroom proceedings. The position may include prosecution of juvenile, felony, misdemeanor, and/or traffic cases.

**Qualifications:**
- Must be licensed to practice in the State of Kansas or signed up for next bar exam
- 0-5 years of relevant legal experience
- Strong knowledge of municipal law, government operations, and legal procedures
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills

**Responsibilities:**
- Assist the County Attorney in drafting legal documents, such as contracts, ordinances, and resolutions
- Conduct legal research on various issues affecting the county government
- Provide support during court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings
- Review and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations to advise county officials
- Collaborate with other county departments and external legal counsel as needed
- Keep abreast of changes in the law and legal trends that may impact the county

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
