Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for client agreements, partnerships, and other business-related documents.
- Ensure compliance with New York State laws, particularly in matters relating to intellectual property, privacy, and contract law.
- Provide legal advice on issues related to content production, including usage rights, licensing, and confidentiality agreements.
- Collaborate with Slate’s executive team and project managers to ensure all contracts align with our clients' luxury brand standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and advise on legal strategies for protecting Slate’s interests in various client engagements.
- Advise on potential legal disputes, assisting with resolutions in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Stay current with legal trends and regulations impacting content production and the luxury goods sector.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the New York State Bar.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in contract law, preferably within media, content production, or a related industry.
- Proven experience drafting and negotiating contracts in a fast-paced environment.
- Expertise in intellectual property, privacy law, and contract negotiation.
- Strong understanding of legal considerations specific to the fashion, beauty, and luxury sectors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to manage client feedback and provide clear legal guidance.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects efficiently.
