Job Description

RAS LaVrar, LLC is an elite creditor’s rights law firm.  We provide full-service litigation and collection services to the nation’s largest banks, credit issuers, and debt buyers. We have offices in eight states and employ over one hundred people.


The Associate Attorney role provides an opportunity to immediately litigate collections matters, participate in discovery, conduct trials, and demonstrate the ability to meet performance expectations. We are hiring an attorney with 3-5 years litigation and/or collections experience.  Necessary job skills include the ability to prioritize workloads, meet deadlines, exhibit attention to detail, and produce high-quality work product in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must be able to work independently and possess strong interpersonal and analytical skills. Virginia Bar membership is required. If you are barred to practice in other states, that is a plus. 


Compensation will be commensurate with experience, and includes our benefits package. Additional compensation and special consideration will be given to candidates licensed to practice law, or who are willing to seek admission in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and/or Pennsylvania.


Job Responsibilities:


· Perform comprehensive review of all conditions precedent to filing of lawsuits, including review of pleadings, exhibits, and other supporting materials

· Draft and review pleadings and correspondence during the course of litigation

· Ensure all internal systems are updated to include findings, documentation, and recommendations

· Exercise a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism

· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws relating to debt collection

· Handle contested matters, including discovery and trials


Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


· Strong computer and general office skills

. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

· Ability to effectively communicate through both verbal and written correspondence

· Ability to work independently


Required Education and Training:


· Juris Doctor

· 3-5 years legal experience

· Bar membership in Virginia. If you are barred in other states that is a plus!
