Professional Search Group is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support the Managing Partner and litigation team in a fast-paced practice. This Legal Assistant role is responsible for maintaining organized case files, tracking deadlines, preparing legal documents, and serving as a floater legal assistant to provide coverage and overflow support across multiple attorney and assistant desks. The ideal Legal Assistant thrives under pressure, exercises excellent judgment, and consistently delivers accurate, timely work.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage calendars and schedule hearings, court appearances, client meetings, and case deadlines.
- Electronically file legal documents using One Legal, DDS, and other court filing platforms.
- Coordinate with attorneys, legal assistants, court personnel, clients, and opposing counsel regarding case matters and updates.
- Obtain hearing dates and coordinate motions, discovery conferences, depositions, and other proceedings.
- Draft, proofread, and edit pleadings, discovery, notices, correspondence, and related legal documents.
- Maintain and organize case files to ensure efficient access to information.
- Assist with trial preparation and legal research as needed.
- Redact, scan, file, and mail legal documents.
- Arrange interviews, meetings, and depositions with clients, witnesses, and counsel.
- Effectively prioritize multiple assignments while maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Associate degree required; Paralegal Certificate preferred.
- Minimum of five years of legal assistant experience, preferably in a litigation environment.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and emotional intelligence.
- Proficiency with electronic court filing systems and standard office software.
- $75 - $85,000/year
