Job Description

Administrative Assistant

The Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit civil law firm, seeks a self-motivated, outgoing Administrative Assistant. This is an administrative, non-attorney position that will work closely with the office’s Staff Attorney, Regional Operations Manager, and other staff. The successful candidate will be highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and have a passion for serving low-income Georgians with these abilities.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support to office staff.
  • Operate all office equipment (i.e., printers, copiers, fax machines, telephones, and computer equipment).
  • Assist office manager with various tasks and projects.
  • Cover the Front desk as needed.
  • Distribution of incoming mail
  • He/she must have an exceptional knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.


Requirements


  • Vehicle and valid driver’s license required for business-related travel
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office programs
  • Demonstrated desire and capacity to serve low-income populations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in a law firm or nonprofit organization preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven ability to innovate and improve existing programs
  • High School Graduate; some college preferred
  • Ability to speak Spanish is highly preferred

 This is a 35 hour per week position with a starting salary of $28,500, some experience credit may be available.  The program provides generous fringe benefits, including paid holidays, paid time off including parental leave; birthday holiday; health, life, and long and short-term disability insurance; tuition reimbursement up to $2500 per year; 403B with 3% match.
